Abstract: | Key findings • Sowing seed with relatively high grain protein gave a small but significant improvement in crop establishment but did not result in increased grain yield compared with sowing low protein seed. • Seed source (2012 growing location) and seed size did not impact on crop establishment but did significantly influence grain yield. • Averaged across seed treatments, EGA_Gregory[PBR] was significantly higher yielding than LongReach Spitfire[PBR], which is consistent with NVT and VSAP trials in the northern grains region over previous seasons. |
