Abstract: Five localities on Kurnell Peninsula have been sampled by bore and auger holes and mechanically analysed. Chemical analysis was carried out on two selected samples. The sand, which possesses similar sorting characteristics throughout, is graded within a narrow range
A survey was made of the potentialities of the guano deposits which exist in the Main Cave of the Willi Willi Caves, 24 miles west north west of Kempsey. Limited amounts of guano have been mined from here between 1924 and 1926.
The Somersby Clay Pit occurs as a 6 ft. lens 300 feet above the base of the Hawkesbury Sandstone. Laterite has been located in a set of drill holes while a second set have been recommended to prove a possible extent to the west. The clay is suitable for use in stoneware and pipe manufacture.
