Abstract: Cassiterite and wolframite occur in greisen and quartz veins in granite south of Taleeban, between West Wyalong and Rankins Springs. The veins have been exploited in four areas, separated by granite which is concealed by a thin veneer of soil and granitic colluvium. Values between 0.02 and 15.6 per cent tin, and zero and 4.9 per cent tungstic oxide were determined for eleven chip channel samples taken from the various workings. It is considered that further investigation, including sampling and possible drilling, is warranted.
