Abstract: This annual report documents the final year of operations (2018-2019) for the New South Wales Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) before its functions were transferred to other departments in July 2019. The report outlines OEH's key achievements in protecting and conserving NSW's environment, Aboriginal culture, and heritage. Major conservation initiatives included implementing the NSW Koala Strategy, expanding the national parks system by over 10,700 hectares, and delivering the $100 million Saving our Species program to secure threatened species. The agency made significant progress on Aboriginal joint management of parks, heritage protection, and climate change adaptation through partnerships with communities. Notable operational achievements included exceeding energy efficiency targets, improving work health and safety outcomes, and enhancing risk management frameworks. The report provides detailed financial statements showing an operating surplus of $28.5 million and net assets of $4.833 billion. It also documents OEH's delivery of major capital works and grant programs supporting conservation, sustainability, and heritage preservation across NSW. The report represents the culmination of OEH's work before its functions were transferred to the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment and the Department of Premier and Cabinet in July 2019.
