Abstract: This report details the activities, achievements and financial performance of the New South Wales Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) for the 2015-16 fiscal year. Key initiatives included developing new policy frameworks for land management and biodiversity conservation, preparing strategic plans for climate change funding, and progressing Aboriginal cultural heritage reforms. The agency managed over 7 million hectares of national parks and reserves, delivered $307.9 million in grants and subsidies, and achieved an operating surplus of $34.5 million. Major conservation outcomes included expanding the Saving Our Species program with $100 million in funding over 5 years, managing flying fox camps, and implementing new coastal management legislation. The report also covers OEH's work in heritage protection, environmental water management, energy efficiency programs, and organizational governance. Financial statements show total assets of $4.37 billion and liabilities of $369 million. The report demonstrates OEH's ongoing commitment to protecting and conserving NSW's natural and cultural heritage while supporting sustainable development and community engagement through evidence-based policies and programs.
