Abstract: Key findings • Applying nil fertiliser and the omission of phosphorus caused the greatest reductions in yield in both seasons. • The greatest losses in grain protein levels occurred where nil fertiliser was applied or nitrogen was omitted in 2013 only. • There were no significant impacts from omitting any of the trace elements on wheat yield at these two sites in these two years. • Omitting copper (Cu) significantly reduce grain protein levels in 2013 only.
