Abstract: Key findings •• Deep phosphorus (P) placement at a depth of 20 cm resulted in root proliferation in desi chickpeas at Terry Hie Hie. •• Deep P applied in the plant line produced more vegetative biomass compared with deep P placed between alternate plant lines (66 cm spacing) four weeks after sowing.
