Abstract: Key findings •There was a significant yield response to starter fertiliser at Gilgandra in 2018. •No significant yield response to deep phosphorus was recorded when starter fertiliser was applied. •Environmental conditions experienced at Gilgandra in 2018 limited crop yield and potentially limited crop access to deep phosphorus.
