Abstract: | Key findings »» Varietal selection again proved to be the major factor in achieving higher wheat yields in the second year of experiments in irrigated wheat production at Leeton. »» Cobra[PBR] was the highest yielding variety in this experiment but Corack[PBR], Suntop[PBR] and the durum breeding line 280913 also performed very well. »» Correct nitrogen timing significantly increased grain yield, grain protein and significantly reduced lodging. »»Managing plant population also significantly reduced lodging. |
