Abstract: | Key findings •• The low mean yield (1.11 t/ha) at this site was largely attributed to low starting soil water and only 87 mm of in-crop rainfall. •• There are differing optimum sowing dates for different varieties, with the mid May sowing date producing higher yields overall. •• While variety and sowing date affected grain yield and harvest index, there was no interaction between these factors at this site. |
