Abstract: This annual report documents the activities and performance of the New South Wales Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC) for the 2012-2013 fiscal year. Key achievements included implementing major reforms to streamline government services through the establishment of Service NSW, securing increased Commonwealth funding through negotiations on the National Disability Insurance Scheme and Gonski education reforms, and launching initiatives to attract investment through the NSW NOW campaign. The department underwent significant organizational changes, including preparations to relocate its offices and implementing new enterprise social networking tools. Financial statements show a net operating deficit of $45.3 million compared to a budgeted deficit of $115.7 million. The report covers DPC's central agency role in leading whole-of-government coordination as well as its oversight of the Division of Local Government and Office of Environment and Heritage. Particular focus areas included regional development through Regional Action Plans, improvements to customer service delivery, and enhanced private sector engagement through an Unsolicited Proposals framework. The report provides comprehensive reporting on the department's governance, human resources, financial management and compliance with NSW public sector requirements during this period of significant reform and organizational change.
