Abstract: The Coal Resource Development Committee has undertaken a timely and invaluable analysis of the New South Wales coal industry and has subsequently prepared a plan to guide the development of the industry through to the 1990's with maximum benefits to the people of this State. Record production figures and a 30.7 percent increase in exports during 1982/83, reflect the efficiency of the coal industry in New South Wales. Internationally, New South Wales is now recognised as a dependable supplier of this valuable energy resource and a reputable trading partner.
