| Abstract: | Key findings • Scald can cause very high yield losses in southern NSW. Losses recorded in these trials reached 55%. • Variety choice has a large impact on management and yield. The more resistant varieties provide multifaceted benefits. • The risk of losses to scald increases rapidly if crops are sown into infected stubble. • Fungicides are effective but timing of application is critical in high disease pressure situations. |
