Abstract: Key findings • High yield losses of up to 42% due to crown rot observed in 2014. • None of the tested varieties show high levels of resistance. • A number of varieties appear to have higher yields in the presence of disease. • Selecting the highest yielding varieties rather than crown rot resistance to minimise losses remains the current advice to growers. • Reduce the risk of crown rot infection by using rotation and stubble management.
