Abstract: Key findings •• Sowing time in this pre-watered site had no effect on overall yield. •• There was an interaction between sowing date and variety for phenological development, grain yield and harvest index. •• Growing degree days affected time to emergence; later sowing dates delayed emergence, but there was no effect on plant density.
