Abstract: Collection and analyses of mine roadway dust samples as part of any scheme for coal-dust treatment are as essential as accountancy is to the commercial side of coal mining, and so at the mine the sampler and chemist may be regarded as the accountants providing the balance-sheets for the management in its campaign against the recognised dangers of coal dust.
