| Abstract: | During the fiscal year ending June 30, 1971, the National Parks and Wildlife Service NSW achieved notable progress in operational efficiency and expanded responsibilities, despite widespread financial constraints affecting State Government departments. The Service successfully implemented legislative requirements enacted in 1969-70, although rising wages, salaries, and material costs restricted planned staff expansion and facility development. Significant support from the National Parks and Wildlife Foundation, totaling nearly $150,000, enabled crucial land acquisitions and project implementations. As the Service matured, it strengthened its capacity to fulfill its role as custodian of the State's natural environments, scenic beauty, and wildlife heritage. |
