| Abstract: | The BioNet Species Sightings Web Service provides an open Application Programing Interface (API) to enable IT application developers to integrate species sightings data held in the Bionet Atlas of NSW Wildlife with software applications. As an open data initiative the scope of applications spans the full breadth of potential uses; from mobile apps through to organisational decision management business systems. The web service does not replace the existing BioNet Atlas of NSW Wildlife web application, as it is intended for use by software applications not as a user interface.
