Abstract: The mineral deposits on the Tamworth-Hastings Metallogenic Map have been divided into six major deposit associations on the basis of their host rock or, in the case of demonstrably intrusive related mineralization, on the basis of the source rock association. The associations are: "Woolomin Association" and "Sandon Association" deposits - stratiform cupriferous pyrite, stratiform manganese and quartz-vein gold deposits. Tarnworth Belt deposits - quartz-vein gold deposits and minor base metal harite mineralization. Deposits in Early Permian rocks - subvolcanic base metal sulphide mineralization and minor gold and manganese deposits. Deposits in serpentinite and related rocks - podiform chromite and minor vein copper and non metallic deposits. Granitoid related deposits - molybdenum, tungsten, tin and base metal vein and disseminated deposits. Deep lead deposits and recent alluvial and beach placer deposits.
