Property Services Group [1989-1995] : [1] Collection home page

The Property Services Group was established in 1989. The group was an administrative office under the Public Sector Management Act, 1988 which operated as an independent and self-funding unit within the administration of the Minister. The impetus the Group's creation was a review of the administration of Government employee housing throughout the New South Wales public sector. On 6 April 1995, the Property Services Group was abolished and its various branches were transferred to other agencies as outlined below: 1) the Homebush Bay Development Corporation was transferred to the Olympic Co-ordination Agency; 2) the City West Development Corporation and Honeysuckle Development Corporation were transferred to the Department of Urban Affairs and Planning; 3) the group of staff attached to the Sydney Cove Redevelopment Authority were transferred to the Department of Urban Affairs and Planning; 4) staff principally involved with the NSW Land and Housing Corporation (known as Landcom) were transferred to the Department of Housing; 5) all other branches were added to the Department of Public Works and Services. © State of New South Wales through Museums of History NSW
