Total production of raw coal was 48,710,000 tonnes for the period, being 3.58 per cent below that achieved for the previous financial year. Open cut mining operations resulted in an increase of 8.41 per cent over the previous period at 13,348,000 tonnes. The decrease in total production was principally due to industrial problems within the industry. An increase of up to 9 per cent may have been achieved if production had been maintained consistantly throughout the year. No Shale oil was produced.-
