Structural subdivision of the New South Wales portion of the Sydney Bowen Basin; The southern part of the New South Wales portion of the Sydney - Bowen Basin can be subdivided into two lower category structural basins, namely, the Sydney Basin and the Gunnedah Basin. These two lower category basins are separated by the Mount Coricudgy Anticline, which trends between Rylstone and Muswellbrook. The Sydney Basin lies southward and eastward of the Mount Coricudgy Anticline and extends off shore to the edge of the continent. The onshore portion of the Sydney Basin is relatively well known, and various structural subdivisions are named. The Gunnedah Basin extends from an ill-defined subsurface boundary about 40 km north of Narrabri southwards to the Mount Coricudgy Anticline, and is overlapped by the Great Artesian Basin in the west. Striated pebbles from the late Precambrian Adelaidean; The presence of numerous striated pebbles in a Late Precambrian Adelaidean diamictite is noted and is considered to justify the use of the genetic term tillite. Igneous rocks associated with ultramafics along the Peel Thrust, New South Wales; Rocks at Woodsreef, Barry, and Upper Bingara show similarities to rocks at the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, supporting the interpretation that the ultramafic and associated igneous rocks emplaced along the Peel Thrust represent fragments of oceanic lithosphere-
