Department of Lands [I] [1859 -1981] : [3] Collection home page

On 30 September 1859 the Department of Lands and Public Works was separated to form the Department of Public Works and the Department of Lands. John Robertson was appointed as the first Secretary for Lands. On November 1981, the Department of Local Government and the Department of Lands were abolished and their branches were amalgamated to form the Department of Local Government and Lands. © State of New South Wales through Museums of History NSW
