The first Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Francis John Walker Q.C., was appointed on 2 October 1981 and the Ministry for Aboriginal Affairs was established by 1982. On 15 April 1988, the Ministry of Aboriginal Affairs was abolished and its branches were transferred to the Premier’s Department. © State of New South Wales through Museums of History NSW
